This past summer, some of the most famous Southern California theme parks have added new rides to attract a variety of family activity and adrenaline. From Hollywood to San Diego, Dad Travel blogger, RJ Jaramillo and TravelingDad shares the latest rides and attractions reviews

Hooray for Hollywood:

Universal Studios Hollywood,
Transformers, The Ride 3-D

This ride makes you feel like you are part of a movie, or at
least the “head” of a Transformer robot. Your seating pod puts you right in the
middle of a robot scuffle. Be prepared for a real life battle between good and
evil with all of the famous Transformer characters. Music and sound affects are abundantly loud and there is a
lot of action and detail to the ride’s storyline.

There is a height and age limit for this ride, so make sure
you have ride options for the little ones. My family of two tweens and one
teenager liked the ride a lot and said that the special effects really made
them feel like they were part of the action. TravelingDad gives this ride a 8
out of 10 stars for the special effects and 9 out of 10 for the overall family
experience.

When visiting Universal Studios, Hollywood, TravelingDad
offers the following “Top 5” Travel Tips:

1.
Hollywood is a big town and there is a lot to
see here. The best recommendation is to plan ahead and book a hotel, walking
distance to Universal Studios. I recommend the Hilton, Universal City. Click here to check for Rates, Dates
and Availability.

2.
Universal Studios Hollywood is hilly; it’s where
they have the Hollywood Hills, remember? Wear adequate walking shoes when you
go to the theme park.

3.
The food is first class everywhere you look; so
pace yourself. They also serve beer and wine at some of the restaurants inside
the park. Prices vary as much as the food variety, enjoy!

4.
They have a kid’s water park so beware. Bring an
extra pair of clothes or a swimsuit for your kids to wear… and don’t forget to
bring a towel, (I did)

5.
Take the traditional bus tour of the Universal
Studios “Back Lot”. Learn how they make moves and learn about the history of
Hollywood. A great break between walking.
