Style and Grooming Guide: Peacoats
One of the most important transitions for every Divorced Dad
is the Mens Fashion & Grooming Makeover. This month, we were asked for our
advice on peacoats. A fashion do, or a fashion don’t.
Dear Singledad,
My name is Tony and I am a Singledad from New York City, NY.
I have 2 kids, a 12-year-old daughter, and a 6-year-old son. I come to you for
advice on winter pea-coats. Just wanting to know they are okay to wear, or just
a fashion no-no.
Sincerely,
Tired Tony
Dear Tired Tony,
Anything you want to wear is okay to wear! But fashion wise?
Luckly for you peacoats are “in fashion”. Peacoats were commonly used for winter fashion. This winter peacoats are coming back in style, and better than ever!
History of the Peacoat
The word “peacoat” has been around for over 300 years! Back in the day they used to be used for sailors that use to sail ships. Therefore, the coats are very warm to wear in winter. The original color of the peacoat is navy blue. Peacoats are mostly made out of wool; they can also be made with cotton. Some places in the winter might even be to hot to wear a peacoat. Back in the day peacoats were called P-cloth. The P stood for “pilot”.
