Short Sides, Long Top: The Undercut
The variation of this haircut started last summer when David
Beckham wore it during the London Olympics. Now that the summer has ended,
there are a variety of famous athletes and celebrities that are making a fall
fashion statement by cutting their hair short on the sides and leaving an
average, to mid-length hair on the top. The Faux-Hawk is dead, meet the new
fall haircut for Men is Fall.
From George Clooney to Thomas Dolby
Believe it or not, even "Mr. Clark Gable", George Clooney
has been sporting this cut. This look is reminiscent of 80’s music performer,
Thomas Dobly. If you are not familiar with Mr. Dolby’s music, look no further
by watching his MTV music video, "She blinded me with Science".
Now, I’m not knocking Mr. Clooney with this haircut. In
fact, if you can reach the mid-50’s looking like this sand having the
girlfriend that you got; my kudos to you… speaking of kudos, let me not forget
the only NFL Quarterback that makes less money per year than his wife, Mr. Tom
Brady.

Mr. Brady
Tom Brady has moved on from his Justin Bieber look and has
embraced this new fall, short hair look in time for NFL pre-season. Don’t look for the Patriots to go any
further than the Super Bowl this year, as Mr. Brady has abandoned the faux-hawk
and embraced the new, "short on the side, long on the top" look for remainder
of the season. Look for this new hairstyle to catch on with other celebrities
and athletes in other sports.
Summary,
For Dads, I see that there is nothing wrong with changing up
your hairstyle this fall. Head in to your local Barber or Hair Stylist and just
say, " I want short on the sides and party on the top" and make life happen,
again!
