The best "dates" so to speak always happen before being announced as a "date" at all, or they happen so quickly, you don’t even know what’s going on. What do I mean? The best dates are usually when you’re at a party or out with a group of friends and you meet someone with whom you really click. You get to talking and pretty soon it’s like everyone else in the room doesn’t exist at all; it’s just you and her. After a while, the party is dying down and you ask her if she wants to go to Denny’s for late night pancakes or maybe out to go stargazing. You’ve been hanging out with her all along and it’s like you’ve been on a "date" without the terrible asking part. Seize those moments that allow these kinds of "dates"; they are rare and usually the best romantic encounters you ever have!

Another way is to reach the same level of comfort, but on your own time. Perhaps you work with her. All you have to do is get to a level of comfort where the pressure of the "date" aspect disappears and you’re just asking her if she wants to hang out after work, go get a drink, go miniature golfing over the weekend, or take your kids out together. Comfort is the key to getting dates. Long gone are the days when Jimmy walks up to Sally after school and asks her to the movies; it still happens, but not this late in the game. You’ve become a more defined version of the man you’ll be for the rest of your life, and so has the woman of your dreams. There’s no need to play those silly schoolyard games, especially when your children are involved. Obviously you only want to "date" someone that your kids are going to like. How better to move along the process than to be comfortable before it even happens? It’s like a skipping the boring chapters of the book!

Most of us can admit that everything in life feels better when it just sort of happens; the same goes for dating! The best dates you can have are the ones that happen without even trying at all. And remember, "Day-Dates" aren’t all bad; especially if it was your idea!
