Reviews: 2014 Can-Am Spyder
Dads shop differently than Moms when it comes to consumer
products that work for Men; and that’s what Dad Product Reviews is all about.
This month, SingleDad has an ongoing review of the 2014 Can-Am Spyder: It’s not
a motorcycle, it’s so much more. Read on…
2014 Can -Am Spyder
Why not Me?
As the editor of SingleDad, I was recently interviewed and
asked if I wanted to be a paid blogger to review the 2014 Can Am Spyder. I knew
very little of the machine itself.
The only thing I did know was of the parent company, BRP were the maker’s of Can-Am
Motorcycles, Jet Ski’s , Snowmobile’s and
a variety of ATV vehicles; all to which I have sampled and rode over the
course of my life. This Can-Am Spyder was a relatively new machine; not a motorcycle,
not an ATV: Something completely different.
It didn’t take long for me to say, "YES, I WILL DO IT" to
the PR rep for Spyder. In fact, I think I interrupted him during the interview
and asked when I would take delivery of the Can-Am Spyder…
And so now I am off to a new adventure. I have realized that
it has been a while since I had a little driving adventure in my life and now
was the perfect time to document some of my adventure to my friends on video
and in writing.
Why Not Me?
As I have been gearing up for the delivery of my Can-Am Spyder, I
have been doing a little research online and open discussions with my friends.
One of my closest friends said he had already watched a couple TV commercials
showcasing a few celebrity spokespersons with the new Can-Am Spyder RT. One of these commercials happened to be with
NHL great, Mark Messier.
The fact that my friend mentioned the commercial featuring
"Mr. I guarantee a win" gave me instant credibility amongst my hockey buds
while we were watching the playoffs together. At the time of this blog, NY Rangers are up 3-2 Games on our
dreaded rivals, the Philadelphia Flyers.
As always, there is one guy in every group that has to ask the "smart"
question. "Hey RJ, Why did they pick you for this promotion?"
I thought about it for a second and looked straight into his
eyes and said, "Why not me?"
- Life is good
- Family is in order
- Career is fine
- I need a little ME Time
Me time is identified as that space of time in between
balancing life, career, family and making the most of your quality time alone.
I have my first two kids in college and I am starting to find some time on my
weekends where I am not playing "Taxi Dad" on the weekends. I can’t dream of
anything better than to get on a Can-Am Spyder for an hour or so and just hit the open
roads of San Diego.
Can-Am Spyder San
San Diego has so much riding to offer that I have broken
down my first group of videos talking about the variety of travel destinations
riding my 2014 Can-Am Spyder. From
the places I go and the people I meet, to the riding experiences I have on my
Can-Am Spyder. I am looking forward to posting my adventures.
Let the fun begin.
